Yogis,

As you already know, our 7th annual yoga festival has gone digital this year with Elevate Akron Online!

On July 16th, we’ll be celebrating from home with a 75-minute all-levels flow taught by Kevin Karas and local music from Zach Friedhof, Museus, and SEER Music!

It deeply saddened us to postpone our in-person festival this year, but distance will not stop us from connecting as a community and bringing yoga to everyone!

While social distancing these past few months, we’ve continued to partner with other amazing non-profits in the community to support those in need during this time.

We are so excited to partner with a collection of groups and organizations who are doing good work in our city that we think you should learn more about!

Akron Harmony House

Harmony House is an emergency supportive housing ministry for young people ages 18-26. Harmony House provides both emergency and transitional housing, and is the only Ministry of its kind in Summit County, unique because of the structure and support it offers.

Akron Harmony House is on a mission to educate, empower and equip at risk young people from impoverished backgrounds with the necessary tools to overcome the obstacles and resolve the hurt that threatens to exempt them from productive balanced lives.

Why get involved? The issues facing inner city youth seem insurmountable, lack of employment, affordable housing, access to health care and transportation, coping and communication skills, education, and spirituality are examples. We believe we can help, and so can you.

Through our H.E.A.L. series and recent apparel sales, we’ve supported the fundraising efforts of Akron Harmony House as they work to provide housing for those in need.

Summit County Children’s Services

For more than 130 years, Summit County Children Services, serving Summit County, Ohio, has provided a safety net for abused and neglected children, especially children in the foster system affected by the Opiate epidemic. Their goal is to ensure that every child under their care has the opportunity to grow up in a safe and loving environment, whether that is with the biological parents, relatives, foster care or adoptive parents.

Over the years, Elevate Akron has proudly donated over $15,000 to SCCS to support their mission and help the children in our community.
